Following on from the work we have done through the exhibition Common Thread, Craft Council are convening another event; Common Thread: The Talk will be held in October to coincide with Black History Month in the UK.
Through the talk, we aim to have an honest conversation with mid/high profile creatives from across the arts about their journeys, successes, challenges they faced, and how creative organisations like the Crafts Council can help to diversify the arts. This will be a ticketed event that will help raise money for our Young People's Programme
PANELISTS: (Host) Actress and dancer Kelechi Okafor, Exhibiting artist and teacher Simone Brewster, Graffiti artist Neequaye Dreph Dsane, Music journalist Jesse Bernard who has written for NME, FADER, CRAFT, and Complex and Presenter MBE June Sarpong. The event at 7-10pm on 23 October marks Black History Month and includes an exhibition featuring 25 artists and a panel talk where you will hear from creatives across the arts including music, craft, fashion, and more.
Tickets price includes entry to the talk, the exhibition, a goodie bag, and a drink!
